What are Lipo-Visuals?
Lipo-Visuals, Sugar-Visuals and Fiber-Visuals are test tubes that visually show how much fat, sugar, and fiber is in the common foods we eat. Showing the actual content of these ingredients in foods creates a lasting impression on the learner. For example, by telling someone there is 63 grams of sugar in a 20 oz soft drink is good information but showing them how much 63 grams of sugar really is may convince them to make a better choice.
What comes with a set/pack?
Lipo-Visuals products come in sets of 36, 12, and 10 tube packs. The sets with 36 and 12 tubes come in a sturdy box that doubles as a rack to display the tubes. The 10 tube sets are large, flat bottom tubes that can stand alone and come in a colorful yellow box. All sets have a instructor guide inside that lists all the foods, their contents of calories and nutrients, and information on how to use the teaching tubes.
Who can use them?
Lipo-Visuals are great for all ages and settings. They can be used to teach nutrition to school kids, fitness centers, health fairs, sports teams, one-on-one counseling, rehab centers and clinics, pregnancy, diabetes, heart disease, grocery tours, food labs and more. The learning experience is enhanced by creativity of the teacher.
What set should I purchase if I’m just getting started?
It depends on your audience. The Lipo-Visuals 12 pack, Sugar-Visuals 12 packs, and the Fiber-Visuals are good starting kits. If you want a larger variety of foods look at the Sugar-Visuals and Lipo-Visuals deluxe teaching kits. If you want to wow your audience, look at the larger flat tubes like the Favorite Foods, Sugar-Visuals Drinks, and Desserts which contain larger portion sizes.
How should I present these to my clients or students?
Use the teaching kit instructors insert for ideas. The website will have ideas in the future. My favorite is to compare the tubes to the real foods. First you lay out all of the foods on a table and keep the Lipo-Visuals hidden. Let your audience pick the best or worst choice, then show them the tubes. It can be an eye opener for all!
What’s in the tubes? Is it safe?
All the contents of the tubes are biodegradable, food based and safe. Do not remove the caps or the contents will spill out.
What age group are Lipo-Visuals used with?
All ages! From 2nd grade to senior citizens!
